Burma Education Partnership

The Burma Education Partnership (BEP) is a specialist organisation providing professional support for education in communities which have been affected by war, economic hardship and oppression

Founded 2002

  • Mission statement

'Professionalism' and 'partnership' are our key principles. Our overall approach is to work at ' grassroots' level, in partnership with teachers in the classroom, by providing mobile training units of well-qualified and experienced teacher trainers for these scattered displaced communities. Our mobile units train teachers, develop curriculum materials which will be used by thousands of children, and deliver Cambridge English exam courses to local teachers who have few qualifications. To maximise the effect of our work we work closely with other NGOs inside Thailand on the border with Burma.

  • Aims

    Burma Education Partnership aims to:

    • To improve the quality of education for children in displaced Burmese communities in particular and for the people of Burma in general
