PKAVS is a diverse charity 'Making the Difference' in Perth & Kinross through services in the areas of Carers, Mental Wellbeing, Minority Communities and Community Engagement.

  • Mission statement

    Established in 1972, PKAVS exists to improve the quality of life for the people of Perth & Kinross. Each year, PKAVS supports over 5,000 vulnerable and disadvantaged local people, helping them work through barriers presented by illness or life circumstances such as being an unpaid Carer.

    PKAVS has four key areas of work - Carers, Mental Wellbeing and Minority Communities which provide direct support to individuals in need; and Community Engagement which supports, promotes and develops the wider Voluntary & Community Sector in Perth & Kinross.

    The charity promotes volunteering in every aspect of its work and is also a central hub for volunteering opportunities within Perth & Kinross.

  • Aims

    Perth & Kinross Association of Voluntary Service (PKAVS) aims to:

    • 2) Mental Wellbeing: Enabling adults recovering from mental illness to overcome barriers and lead healthy and inclusive lives within their communities.
    • 4) Community Engagement: Promoting Volunteering and Community Participation as a way of life for the people of Perth & Kinross
    • 3) Minority Communities: Enabling Minority Ethnic Communities living or working in Perth & Kinross to access local services with equality.
    • 1) Carers: Improving the quality of life of unpaid Carers, including children who are young carers aged 5-18 years.
