The project exists to support and assist families trying to cope with housing stress, manage their lives in very difficult and wide-ranging circumstances. Families who are living in temporary unsuitable accommodation figure highly amongst groups who are socially excluded in our society. The families we work with come from the poorest sections of our community and are amongst the most socially excluded and disadvantaged e. G. Unsupported pregnant women, young lone parents & those experiencing DV

  • Mission statement

    Shepherds Bush Families Project & Children’s Centre (SBFP&CC) was set up in February 1988 in response to identified need in the Shepherds Bush area.
    Aims of organisation:
    ~ The Project aims to relieve the poverty and distress of families suffering homelessness and other severe housing, social and economic hardship in Shepherds Bush and the Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham
    ~ To advance public education about all aspects of family homelessness;
    ~ To promote the emotional, physical, social and intellectual development of infants, children and young people in these households, and in the local area, by the provision of a range of high quality, stimulating educational and recreational daytime services and activities which will enable them to flourish both at home and at school or college;
    ~ To provide opportunities for support, training and education aimed at supporting and enhancing the capacity, confidence and skills of parents/carers and parents-to-be with the aim of facilitating their knowledge and ability to identify and meet their children’s needs, their own needs and to participate more fully in society
