Mencap Liverpool is a local, independent charity that promotes equality for people with a learning disability - helping them to discover new opportunities, make new friends, and feel valued and safe in their community.
We are the local voice of learning disability
We help individuals and their familes
We connect people to friends and help them access opportunities
We do the small things that make a big difference
Mencap Liverpool is the local Mencap Group for the Liverpool area. We are affiliated to the national charity Mencap and share their values, but we are a separate charity, run by local people and completely self-funded.
Our vision is a city where everyone is valued equally, listened to and included: where everyone has the opportunity to achieve want they want in life.
We believe in being person centred and empowering each individual whilst helping their support network to grow in number and in confidence. We provide a range of activities including outreach support; information and advice; career coaching; volunteering opportunities; befriending; help to establish circles of support; and work experience placements.
