Brinkburn Music presents an annual classical music Festival that is held at Brinkburn Priory in Northumberland and also an associated education programme. The Festival takes place in the 12th Century Brinkburn Priory - one of the most beautiful locations in Northumberland. It was founded in 1994 by its Artistic Director, Paul McCreesh, also the director of the Gabrieli Consort and a driving force in European classical music. He set out to build a Festival here which would provide a focus for music performance of the highest international standard and to create new opportunities for participation by children and young people in the county.
Brinkburn Festival now aims to deliver the highest levels of excellence in the programming and presentation of outstanding classical music in the heart of rural Northumberland, to an audience of all ages and interests. It is the outstanding mixture of musical excellence, rural beauty and heritage location playing to a local and regional audience which makes Brinkburn Festival so special.
