We are a small charity with a world wide membership promoting and maintaining standards of work in diagnostic testing of young children in order to plan appropriate help and treatment.

Founded 1957

  • Mission statement

    (1 )To promote and maintain standards of work in the diagnostic testing of babies and young children using the Griffiths Scales.

    (2) To foster studies and research designed to increase knowledge and understanding of mental development problems in very young children both normal and handicapped; and, in particular to further use of the Griffiths Scales.

    3) In connection with the above, to organise meetings for the exchange of ideas and the development of activities designed to help normal and handicapped children of all groups

    • To design and establish a new version of the Griffiths Mental Development Scales incorporating current thinking on child development with can be validated in many countries of the world.
