Sight Support Ryedale

Sight Support Ryedale is an independant charity providing activities, information and support in the Ryedale area of North Yorkshire for those who are blind or partially sighted.

Founded 1994

  • Mission statement

Sight Support Ryedale aims to positively affect the lives of partially sighted and blind people in Ryedale by enabling them to take part in activities which sighted people may take for granted, to provide opportunities for friendship and peer support, and to offer information and resources.

We have a thriving and active membership, supported by over 30 friendly and helpful volunteers. The charity has been helping people with visual impairment since 1994, and now provides a wide range of support and activities, including fortnightly social groups in both Malton and Pickering, information and support, excursions, an annual holiday, walking group, Yoga sessions, book group, computer training, and supply or loan of aids and equipment.

We aim for high user-involvement in the running of our charity, with members and volunteers playing a vital and much-appreciated role on our management committees.
