Faraja Support

Faraja Support aims to support orphaned and disadvantaged children in northern Tanzania. We will support any child regardless of gender, religion, ethnicity and cultural background.
We currently are running one home-from-home for 7 orphaned and severly disadvantaged children. The home is managed by two carers and is in simple African style and is run as an extended family and NOT an institution. We are providing education for all our children within the private sector as government school are woefully under-resourced. We provide good healthcare and we have one HIV+ child who attends clinic regularly and is doing very well.

We currently rent a property on a long lease but in order to secure the future for our children and staff we aim to purchase our own property within the next three years if funding allows for this project. We also hope to open another similar home-from-home and also to open our first mobile play vehicle to provide play opportunities for local children who live in impoverished communities in the area.
