Mission statement
Lambeth Mencap is a well-established local charity which provides a range of services to adults with learning disabilities and their families. Established in 1953, the organisation has played a key role in helping to shape local services and involvement in service planning remains an important element of our work.
Over the last ten years or so, Lambeth Mencap has grown to become a significant provider of services and has considerably extended the volume and range of its services and projects.

As an organisation we believe that every person:
Has value and should be treated with dignity and respect
Has the right to privacy and to feel free from unnecessary intrusion in their lives
Should have access to community leisure facilities
Has the right to daily living opportunities in order to develop skills of independence, which includes being able to take a degree of calculated risk
Should be supported in having a valued network of relationships

Aims
Lambeth Mencap aims to:
- To promote the independence of adults with learning disabilities
- To enable adults with learning disabilities to access services and engage in their communities.
