Saferworld is an independent non-governmental organisation that works to prevent and reduce violent conflict and promote cooperative approaches to security.
Saferworld believes that everyone should be able to lead peaceful fulfilling lives, free from insecurity and violent conflict.
Through our work in the Horn of Africa, South and Central Asia and Eastern Europe we aim to understand what causes violence by talking to the people it affects and then bringing together communities, governments, civil society and the international community to develop solutions.
Using this experience, we also work with the UK, EU, UN and others to develop ways of supporting societies address conflict and insecurity.
Saferworld aims to:
- People play a central role in preventing and transforming conflict and building peace
- People are free from fear and insecurity
- People have fair and effective paths to address grievances
