The Abbey Community Association Ltd

The Abbey Centre is a community hub in south Westminster, which has been working with the local community and offering a range of health, social, leisure, learning and sporting activities for all ages since 1948. The Centre operates from a building (34 Great Smith Street). We focus on promoting health and wellbeing for the most vulnerable including older people at risk of social isolation, ethnic minorities experiencing health inequalities and people experiencing the negative health impacts of low income and worklessness. We aim to promote social cohesion amongst our diverse communities through volunteering and civic engagement. We facilitate the south Westminster Action Network that brings local stakeholders together to improve local services and quality of life in the area. We also run a successful conference, catering and cafe social enterprise to generate income to support our charitable work.
