CICS Group

Voluntary charity providing contact, information and support for families whose deaf children have/need surgically implanted cochlear implants to access sound. Deafness is a hidden and isolating disability for children and their families, particularly for the 40% that have an additional difficulty. We provide newsletters, a private Facebook group, information days, events, and activity weekends for families to share experiences, learn from one another and feel reassured by belonging to a network

Founded 2003

  • Mission statement

The CICS Group aims to reduce the feeling of isolation that deaf children and their families can experience due to the low incidence of profound deafness in children in the UK. The charity offers contact, information, support and events for families before, during and after their child's cochlear implantation and gives access to a network of families who can share first-hand experience of the process of their child's cochlear implantation from the family perspective.

  • Aims

    CICS Group aims to:

    • To provide contact, information, support and events for families whose deaf children need, or already have cochlear implants to access sound.
