Wide Horizons

We operate eight outdoor centres and work with over 46,000 children and young people (aged 2 to 25) from London, Kent and Walsall each year. We provide a mixture of one-day nature experiences, outdoor pursuits such as camping to more adventurous activities such as climbing and gorge walking. We enhance children and young people’s education and inspire them to learn by linking adventure to the school curriculum, whilst also focusing on the personal and social development of each child.

Founded 2004

  • Mission statement

We believe that every child, regardless of their background or circumstances, should have the opportunity to experience adventures as part of their education and development.

As a charity, we focus our support on disadvantaged children by working with schools with high numbers of children living in deprived areas, with special educational needs or facing other forms of disadvantage including children from minority ethnic communities.

We provide Adventure Learning activities to these children to develop well-rounded young people who are environmentally conscious, active members of their communities and have the right skills to build better futures for themselves.
