  • Mission statement

Barefoot uses creative activities to bring people together to share achievement, learn skills and strengthen their sense of community. We specialise in working with those who are, or feel marginalised or excluded. Barefoot delivers this by creating and managing inclusive projects and events, working in partnership with education and community organisations and employing local practitioners.

    Barefoot's aims are:

To use creative activities as a vehicle to tackle social, emotional and health issues affecting young people and their local communities

To help to reduce the number of young people drifting into anti-social behaviour and negative activity by giving them creative skills and a sense of achievement, confidence, self esteem and social skills.

To use inclusive activities to improve social cohesion, breaking down barriers between people from different communities, age groups and disadvantaged and troubled backgrounds.

To link physical and creative activity to encourage active lifestyles and improve physical and mental health and well-being
