At RETAS, we believe every refugee and asylum seeker in the UK can reach their potential. We work with these groups and the wider community in West Yorkshire to make this a reality. To help integrate refugees and asylum seekers we provide assistance with access to education, requalification, training and employment. We strive to build confidence and hope in our clients, and empower them to build a safe and secure life here in the UK.

  • Mission statement

    RETAS is the only organisation within West Yorkshire that offers specialist, employment, training and requalification services to refugees and asylum seekers. RETAS has been in operation since 2003 in the West Yorkshire Region and is based in Leeds.

    RETAS has vast experience of delivering a wide variety of employment, training and skills support, projects and programmes. Some recent examples include delivering Steps to Settlement and the Welcome to Leeds Project.

    Our services include; Welcome and orientation for new asylum seekers, Jobsearch Skills, Jobsearch groups, Integration programme, ESOL class, Placing volunteers into work placements, Educational Equivalency through UK NARIC, Employment Information, Advice and Guidance, Financial Management training, Employer Training and awareness raising, Education and Training Information advice and guidance.

    • To enable positive community engagement and successful integration
    • To support the integration needs of newly arrived asylum seekers
    • To enable refugees to transition better when leaving the asylum system
    • To improve the confidence, employability and wellbeing of refugees
    • To support refugees in the first 3 months of employment
