WELSH SCOUT COUNCIL

The Welsh Scout Council supports the development of Scouting in Wales. Each week, over 12,000 young people in Wales enjoy the adventure of Scouting, supported by over 3000 adult volunteers.

Founded 1925

  • Mission statement

ScoutsWales has a volunteer base of 3,000 plus adults who provide activities for 12,500 young people. The purpose of Scouting is to contribute to the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.
As a charity we rely on grants and donations to ensure that we keep the fees paid by young people to a minimum. We need donations to give bursaries to young members to enable them to take part in overseas projects; to fund training of young Leaders. We also need to fund the employment of Development Officers who are tasked with growing the adult volunteer base to reduce the waiting lists and enable boys and girls, young men and young women aged 6 to 25 years to participate in the exciting Scout programme.
