Flintshire Mind, based in North Wales, provides information and support to anyone experiencing mental or emotional distress through social links, talking therapies and training.
We help Flintshire people develop and maintain their wellbeing and support them to find the mental and emotional resilience to cope with the complex everyday problems they and their families face. We want to help people help themselves and support others (whether that be family members, friends, colleagues or neighbours) so that mental distress is less likely to develop into serious and entrenched mental health problems. Through early intervention and practical support, we would like to reduce the number of people identified as needing secondary care mental health services.
But where mental health problems have developed we aim to support members of our community to recover and maintain their wellbeing. We are working towards a society that treats people with experience of mental distress fairly, positively and with respect so that they may live full lives and play their full part in society.
