Mid Pennine Arts

Arts + people + places

Founded 1966

  • Mission statement

We are a driving force for the arts in Pennine Lancashire, recognised nationally for devising and delivering exemplary integrated creative programmes that inspire, surprise and delight. We bring art, people and places together to transform perceptions and change lives.

We develop our most successful work through partnerships, networks and creative collaborations. Our work is people centred, people friendly, celebrates diversity and promotes equality of opportunity. We embody a spirit of discovery and build a dimension of creative learning into all our projects. We always strive for the best possible creative results and the most ambitious impacts. We aim to break new ground in the content, context and the outcomes of our work.

Our integrated creative programmes involve visual arts (powerful new work that uses Lancashire as our gallery), creative learning (inspiring activities for young people and adults) and public realm (fostering pride of place, connecting communities and building a new kind of visitor destination).
