Freshwater Habitats Trust works to conserve the freshwater of the UK, both through the restoration and creation of wetland habitats, for the benefit of endangered aquatic wildlife.

    Freshwater Habitats Trust is the national charity dedicated to protecting the wildlife of our freshwaters: ponds, rivers, streams and lakes.

    We give advice, carry out research, promote practical action and lobby policy makers to ensure that freshwater wildlife and habitats have a secure future.

    Freshwater Habitats Trust aims to:

    • Engage the public in the conservation and ecology of freshwater habitats with a special focus on ponds, through education, outreach work, and practical projects.
    • Conserve and/or create ponds, wetlands, catchment systems and other water habitats for the benefit of freshwater wildlife.
