Freshwater Habitats Trust works to conserve the freshwater of the UK, both through the restoration and creation of wetland habitats, for the benefit of endangered aquatic wildlife.

    Freshwater Habitats Trust is the national charity dedicated to protecting the plants and wildlife of our freshwaters: ponds, rivers, streams, and lakes.

    We carry out research, promote practical action and lobby policy makers to ensure that freshwater wildlife and habitats have a secure future.

  • Aims

    Freshwater Habitats Trust aims to:

    • To protect freshwater life for everyone to enjoy by engaging the public in the conservation and ecology of freshwater habitats, through education, outreach work, and practical projects.
    • Research, conserve and/or create ponds, wetlands, catchment systems and other water habitats for the benefit of freshwater wildlife.
