North West Playwrights is a small charity based in Manchester. We work with writers of drama at all levels, advocating literature and theatre for all.

  • Mission statement

    Established in 1982, North West Playwrights is the regional agency supporting and developing writers of drama in the North West of England. We nurture new and emerging writers, and challenge and stimulate established artists through our established writing courses, workshops, masterclasses and script reading service.

  • Aims

    North West Playwrights aims to:

    • To promote participation in and of writing for performance.
    • To offer support to literature and theatre organisations dealing with dramatic writing, including allowing them to outsource script reading to us.
    • To nurture and support all writers of drama at every level and stage in their career.
