Precept Ministries Scotland

Precept Ministries Scotland exists to encourage and facilitate the use of Inductive Bible Study within the whole church as the Body of Jesus Christ, irrespective of denomination, race or background.

Founded 2007

  • Mission statement

Precept Ministries Scotland exists to establish people in God's word, the Bible, using the inductive study approach, and is one of a family of about 140 national Precept ministries in countries around the world. Its parent charity is Precept Ministries International, based in Chattanooga USA, but Precept Scotland is totally independent, financially and organisationally. The mission of Precept Ministries is to equip individuals to get to grips with reading and understanding the Bible, in order to discover truth for themselves. This is achieved by supporting individuals and local study groups, through the provision of inductive Bible study materials, training in their use, getting to know students personally, and lots of encouragement!

There is thus a very strong pastoral element to the ministry, as many people in Scotland who are keen to study the Bible using Precept materials live in isolated spots, distant from other like-minded folk. Currently Ian & Anna Bartholomew, the National Coordinators for Precept Ministries in Scotland, are the charity's only two workers. With slender resources, and a desire to reach out to people, our strategic approach for Precept Scotland in the next 3 to 5 years is to be, and remain, 'simple, family, mobile. ' Will you partner with us?!
