HighTide Festival Theatre

HighTide Festival Theatre exists to discover, produce and champion emerging playwrights. This remains our core vision, and informs all of the company's work and future ambitions.

Founded 2007

  • Mission statement

Founded in 2007, HighTide Festival Theatre is a not-for-profit theatre company that sources, develops and produces emerging playwrights from around the world. Our productions premiere in the annual HighTide Festival Season in Suffolk, and we work with regional partners including Aldeburgh Music, Dance East and the Latitude Festival. HighTide's work has transferred nationally and internationally, including to London with the Bush Theatre (2008), National Theatre (2009), Old Vic Theatre (2010), to the Edinburgh Festival (2010) and internationally to the Australian National Play Festival (2010).

HighTide is committed to delivering with excellence a wide range of activities that compliment our productions, including extensive professional development work with young people and emerging artists. At the core of our belief is that great theatre should be accessible to all, and our regional, national and international work is competitively priced, thanks to the subsidy of others.
