Disability Derbyshire CIL

Disability Derbyshire CIL is an organisation run by and for disabled people with free services that promote independent living such as Counselling, Direct Payment support, Advice and Information. Disability Derbyshire has many training and volunteering opportunities for disabled people, which can be the first step towards employment. Our Shirebrook office runs a disabled people’s mentoring project funded by the Big Lottery, which covers North East Derbyshire, Chesterfield and the District of Bolsover The project has volunteering opportunities for disabled people; helping to run the office, representing Disability Derbyshire at community meetings, being a trustee and being a mentor. The project delivers mentor training and personal empowerment training. We also have a UK Online class on Tuesdays with adaptive computer aids for disabled people.
