The Outpost Housing Project

The Outpost Housing Project provides advice, support and supported accomodation to young people with a housing need aged between 16 & 25 who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or who think they might be.
We currently support 8 young people in single person flats and 2 young people with their own tenancy, in Newcastle upon Tyne. Most people stay for between 6 months and 18 months and part of the support provided is to find suitable accomodation to move on to.
Referrals can be from other organisations, family, friends or the young person themself. If they fit with the referral criteria above they will be offered an interview, and potentially, a flat. As we are a small project we operate a waiting pool. Flats are allocated to the person with the most need, not a first come first served basis.
