SkyWay works with vulnerable young people aged between 8 and 25 years old and live in Hackney and other inner London boroughs.
SkyWay recognises that all young people have the right to dream.
Our vision is to support young people towards realising their dreams and achieving their potential; providing opportunities for personal growth and development through our youth-led programmes, projects and services.
SkyWay aims to address the personal support needs of disadvantaged young people, aged 8 to 25 years in Hackney; enabling them to achieve personal goals, realise their potential and contribute positively to their community.
This aim is achieved through youth-led themed programmes, sharing the following objectives:
■Enable young people to develop communication and social skills, self-confidence and motivation, to achieve personal goals, and the ability to cope with life's 'ups and downs'.
■Empower vulnerable young people to make positive health and lifestyle choices, including increasing their participation in sport and positive recreational activities.
■Provide opportunities for young people to volunteer and develop transferable employability and citizenship skills, while raising their awareness of training and career opportunities.
■Champion the needs of local young people and encourage partnership working between local community organisations, public sector service providers, businesses and young people.
■Develop best practice and share innovation in youth work
