Jamie Oliver Food Foundation

“I profoundly believe that the power of food has a primal place in our homes that binds us to the best bits of life. My wish is for each individual to help create a strong sustainable movement to educate every child and young adults about food, to inspire families to cook again, and to empower people everywhere to fight obesity. ” Jamie Oliver

Founded 2002

  • Mission statement

The mission of the Better Food Foundation is to educate and empower as many people as possible to love and enjoy good food. This means learning how to cook, understanding where food comes from, and recognizing the power it can have on our health, happiness, and even finances. We do this through teaching, training and employment, and also by making good clear information available to as many people as possible.

  • Aims

Jamie Oliver Food Foundation aims to:

    • to train 18 disengaged young people, not in education, training or employment to become exceptional chefs
    • to teach children about food, where it comes from and how it affects their bodies
    • to teach communities to cook and re-connect with lost cooking skills
    • to campaign for global awareness to improve food skills for life and combat the increase in diet related disease which is costing billions of pounds and millions of lives.
