  • Mission statement

    Mission Statement

Harbour Place Day Centre aims to serve those who may be considered vulnerable or socially excluded within the community, through actions which promote positive choices in people’s lives.

Harbour Place Day Centre (HPDC) is a day centre that works directly with clients who are predominantly homeless and subject to social exclusion or isolation. HPDC has year-on-year built on its reputation and services to the vulnerable and disadvantaged adults of North East Lincolnshire (NEL). The client base includes people who are: unemployed; ex-offenders; the elderly; or have learning disabilities; substance misuse issues; mental health and general health problems. Many individuals who visit HPDC fit into a combination of these categories and are also subject to forms of discrimination and prejudice resulting from labelling and stigmatisation in the wider community. The non-judgemental approach of HPDC works to combat these issues to give them a better quality of life. Our services now includes Street Outreach.

“We are totally focussed on improving the lives of those most in need”

A key part of HPDC’s services includes, supporting and advocating on behalf of clients as well as signposting and referring them to a wide range of statutory and voluntary sector agencies. HPDC has a one-to-one holistic approach of working with its clients which is often time consuming and labour intensive which does, in HPDC’s point of view produce the most effective long term results.
