  • Mission statement

The London Chamber Orchestra Trust has as its main objective the promotion of music and education in music with particular reference to The London Chamber Orchestra (LCO), its musicians and education work. The London Chamber Orchestra is the longest established professional chamber orchestra in the UK, founded in 1921 by Anthony Bernard, and premiering at the London home of Viscountess Nancy Astor. Principal Conductor and Music Director, Christopher Warren-Green brings together the inspirational musicians and repertoire for which LCO is renowned.

LCO runs a successful London season and regularly performs throughout the UK and abroad. Through exciting initiatives such as LCO Kids, LCO New and LCO Live, LCO encourages young people to experience the thrill of classical music, helps audiences to take a fresh look at contemporary music and presents a live experience even for those listening by proxy through broadcast or recording. LCO continues to reach out through new important charitable associations and creative education initiatives such as LCO and Barnardo’s Music Junction.
