To offer useful services to patients and raise funds for the provision of facilities and equipment that will benefit the health, welfare and comfort of the patients of the Royal Marsden Hospital

Mission statement
The Friends have supported the work of the hospital for many years by providing additional funding, support and amenities.
The work undertaken by the Friends is entirely voluntary and includes:
* providing services that enhance the well-being of patients and staff
* running refreshment bars, shops, trolley services, flower arranging, garden maintenance, a meet and greet service, help in the pharmacy
* providing voluntary non-medical assistance in various wards and departments
* raising funds for the purchase of medical equipment and provision of amenities for the added comfort of the patients, eg recent purchases were
- a vacuum-assisted Biopsy system that increases the accuracy of breast diagnosis; is more convenient, less invasive, quicker and safer with faster recovery for the patient. It is also more cost efficient.
- a Digital Microscope System that enables the analysis of blood and body fluids in a safer, faster, more efficient and comfortable way, so freeing time for the staff to concentrate better on the more difficult cases
- a Motomed Pedal that exercises the muscles of long stay patients -
