Chinese Information and Advice Centre

The Chinese Information and Advice Centre (CIAC) offers free information, advice and support to disadvantaged Chinese people living in the UK. This includes supporting women and children at risk of domestic violence, working with prisoners to help reduce re-offending, and legal advice on issues such as employment, immigration and asylum.

Chinese people are often disadvantaged by not being able to access services or justice because of linguistic and cultural barriers. To help people overcome these barriers, our staff are able to work with service users in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hakka, Shanghainese, Malay, and Fujian.

The Centre has been supporting people across the United Kingdom since 1982 and is based in London’s Chinatown. A social enterprise as well as being a registered charity, the Centre also organises a range of cultural and social activities in addition to the information and advice services it provides.
