Refugee Welcome Trust

The Refugee Welcome Trust provides help for UK refugees in reuniting their families.

Founded 2010

  • Mission statement

The Refugee Welcome Trust provides help in reuniting refugees in the UK with any immediate family they might have become seperated from as they fled. Family reunion is a right for those who have gained UK Refugee Status and through this their partner and dependent children may join them in the UK. The process of family reunion can be difficult and stressful and can exacerbate the effects of trauma especially for children. Following the bureaucracy through the process the last hurdle for many is the cost of the travel.

The Refugee Welcome Trust believe that no family should be kept apart by poverty and we provide grants for travel and other essential costs in order to allow families to live safely together in the UK. Once here we look to provide further financial support with education to allow people to rebuild their lives.

  • Aims

    Refugee Welcome Trust aims to:

    • The relief of unemployment of those granted refugee status in the UK and their dependants.
    • The advancement of education and training among those granted refugee status in the UK and their dependants.
    • The relief of financial hardship amongst those who have been granted refugee status in the UK and who are in need and their dependants.
