"Education is not the filling of a pail but the lighting of a fire" - Yeats

An inspiring education can transform a child's life, and the aim at Notting Hill Prep is to educate children in the true sense of the word. Through a broad-based curriculum, the school strives to ignite an excitement and a passion for learning that will last a lifetime. In an atmosphere of mutual respect, the children are encouraged to explore, question and appreciate the richness of our culture and that of others. Fundamental to the school ethos is the importance of extending this education to a broad cross-section of the local community.

The aim of the NHP Foundation is to open the doors of the school to more children who would benefit from the special experience of being a pupil at Notting Hill Prep. The intention is to provide bursaries for local children who could not otherwise afford it, through Years 7 and 8. This will not only benefit these children but also current pupils at the school who will be exposed to new views and friendships and experience first hand the diversity of life in our local area. The excitement of intellectual challenge, a personal commitment and the realisation of potential has resulted in the first three assisted-place pupils gaining 100% bursary places at Charterhouse, Rugby and St Edwards, Oxford, where the children have gone on to reap the benefits of inspiring education and wider experiences.
