Opera Brava is a professional touring company, with a long and successful track record of work, particularly in education. The company has worked in schools, special needs, and community projects for the last 26 years. During that time, we have inspired over 25,000 children, from every ethnic background and ability, enabling them to participate in performing specially commissioned operas in schools, festivals and theatres. This enables the children to develop self esteem and confidence.
The company perform throughout the summer in outdoor venues nationwide, combining the young talented and gifted artists develop and hone their skills with international musicians and singers. This brings first class productions to the general public in creative and entertaining performances of standard repertoire. There have been many artists over the years who have achieved international recognition in the field of Opera but their first major role was with Opera Brava. We have a very strong mentoring programme where we endeavor to help and encourage young talent before they take on major roles in the main Opera Houses.
Opera Brava perform in both traditional and non traditional venues with orchestras, chamber ensembles and piano. This allows our opera performances to be available to people of all generations at affordable prices.
