Since 2004 we have worked with a partner organisation, Yayasan Harapan Sumba, to improve the living standards of the very poor farming communities on the island of Sumba, Indonesia.
We aim to reduce poverty by helping the village communities understand and resolve their problems through discussion, training, and working together to develop skills. All our efforts are geared to helping local people achieve a tangible and sustainable improvement in their lives and those of their children.
Programmes we support include:
-improving access to safe drinking water;
-providing simple family toilets;
