  • Mission statement

    Encompassing community representation at all levels dedicated to providing collaborative partnerships and education that addresses, encourages, and supports crime prevention efforts across the Midlands. We exist to promote comprehensive awareness about the role that effective restorative justice practices and mediation plays in crime prevention and in improving the quality of life for all – healing and forgiveness for victims and re-integration and taking responsibility for offenders. Restorative Justice Initiative is recognised as the driving force in promoting and advancing sustainable crime prevention amongst migrants and local community (Restorative Justice – Mediation), and in enhancing community safety through progressive resources and training tailored to address local needs throughout the Midlands.

  • Aims

    Restorative Justice Initiative (Midlands) aims to:

    • To educate and train community members on Restorative Justice,conflict mediation and crime prevention strategies and assist crime victims in their healing process.
    • Assist in the reintegration of offenders back in the community and provide Restorative Justice to incarcerated offender and give them opportunity t make amend with their families and communities.
    • Provide alternative methods of dealing with crime, wrongdoing and conflicts to local communities, and assist local population to deal with conflict through mediation.
    • To promote family and community cohesion and equip community members with the basic conflict management skills and contribute to a safer and stronger community
    • Assists local population and young people to gain an understanding of the Criminal Justice process through training and empower local communities to adopt Restorative Justice/Mediation.
