Hillside Clubhouse is a resource for people with mental health problems that makes social inclusion and participation in everyday life a reality. Getting a paid job, having a social life and going to college are the norm for many of our members. This isn't a staid day centre but an exciting and dynamic place to be!
The Clubhouse enables its members to participate in mainstream paid employment, education, social and leisure facilities in the community at large through building members’ confidence, valuing relationships, preparation for work and ongoing support. Clubhouse is an internationally recognised model and there are over 450 clubhouses worldwide supported by the International Center for Clubhouse Development (ICCD) and operating according to international clubhouse standards. Hillside Clubhouse aims to provide a safe, structured, and community based environment in which social, pre-vocational, training and employment focused opportunities are made available to adults with enduring mental illness, in the London Borough of Islington and surrounding boroughs
Members of the clubhouse will benefit from developing more socially inclusive and satisfying lifestyles in which they are more able to achieve their full potential, whether that be through paid employment, education, or meaningful activity.
Members are encouraged to participate in activities on an individually planned basis through goal planning and evaluation between individual staff and members.
