Compassion in Dying
Compassion in Dying provides information about patients' rights at the end of life and support to make decisions about their medical treatment, helping to ensure that their wishes can be respected.
Compassion in Dying is a national charity that supports people at the end of life to have what they consider to be a good death by providing advice and information around their rights and choices. We are the leading provider of free Advance Decisions in the UK and also conduct and review research around rights and choices in end-of-life care.
Our Vision is world in which everyone has access to the care and support that is right for them at the end of life. This means: access to expert information about end-of-life options; support to make informed choices; and care from the provider that you feel is most appropriate.
Our Mission is to support people who are at the end of life to have what they consider to be a good death. We achieve this by: providing information and guidance to patients and health professionals about end-of-life decision making; conducting research into end-of-life issues to advance the development of better end-of-life care; and empowering individuals to exercise their rights and ensuring their choices are respected.
