St Luke's is a church that is also a community centre, providing a safe place for all ages, together with practical help, new opportunities and somewhere to belong together.

Founded 1933

  • Mission statement

    1. St Luke's exists to build community in the local area, and to provide spiritual inspiration, emotional support and practical help for those in need. We are a special kind of church serving as a community centre in an area with no other real facilities. Much of our work is with marginalized and vulnerable people of all ages, especially young people. We seek to address the effects of poverty in families, through practical solutions such as offering budgeting help, parenting advice. We provide a safe place to come, fun and new opportunities.
We run an after school club for 5-10 year olds; a parent and toddler group; a youth group and a girls group for 11-16 year olds; a homework club; a Drop In morning with Welfare Rights advice; a men’s pool group; holiday clubs , trips, residentials, and one to one support for vulnerable people of all ages.
