Seagull Trust Cruises

Seagull Trust Cruises, a unique Scottish Charity, was established in 1978 and offers free cruises for people with special needs in Scotland on the Lowland and Caledonian Canals. Our fleet of 8 purpose built boats make this the largest fleet of charity boats in Great Britain. For the year ending 31st October 2009 we delivered 2,378 trips for 20. 000 passengers including 2,358 wheelchairs.

The Trust provides a valuable recreational facility for a section of our community too often overlooked when it comes to charitable support, those with special needs and typically these are senior members from amongst our midst. Typically our passengers are senior members of our communities and all too often a day cruise with us represents one of the very few days out from special care they will enjoy each year. .

Operating from four branches in Falkirk, Kirkintilloch, Ratho and Inverness, every person who works within Seagull Trust Cruises is a volunteer, giving their time and expertise to help - including maintenance & administration, welcoming our passengers, crewing the boats and fundraising. We are absolutely reliant upon our volunteers and supporters to maintain and expand our services, and ensure continuity of service in the future.
