The Kenneth Loveland Gift

The Kenneth Loveland GIft was founded in 2000 to help young musicians at the advanced/postgraduate stage continue their studies. The first Gift of £1000 was awarded in 2002. This was increased a couple of years ago to £2000 as it was felt that the original sum had lost it's value.
In 2009 we awarded a junior Gift of £500 to help students of outstanding potential who were moving from the junior to the senior conservatoires but might not have the finanial requirements to take up thir offered places. It was felt thatthis amout would help with the purchase of music, strings etc, needed for their course. However we were unable to award this junior gift this year as the main Gift had to be increased to £3000 to share between three students, the standard being such that the judges could not pick out one outstanding performance.
