  • Mission statement

We are a community led organisation in Brighton providing Information Advice & Guidance (IAG), a range of learning and education opportunities and a range of support activities for those who are looking to go back to work. The services and activities that are on offer are designed to draw in those who are socially excluded and who lack skills and confidence. As an organisation we are passionate about working with people to develop and fulfil their aspirations for success, improving their own lives and those of their families and the wider community. We structure the way we present activities and services to focus on individual choice and aspiration. The Whitehawk Inn works in partnership with other statutory, third sector and private partners to deliver all the activities that are on offer, employing a core staff to run the premises and activities based around our bright welcoming café.

Over the last 10 years, more than 7,000 people have used one or more of the services provided by The Whitehawk Inn – 70% of these live in an LSOA or areas of deprivation and 92% have known barriers to participation that result in social exclusion, poverty, low educational attainment and skill levels, poor work prospects, poor health and family breakdown. In the last three years, we have increased our focus on supporting those who have experienced long term unemployment, providing additional support beyond statutory provision. Over that period, we have supported 200 people back to work, 48 of
