Nottinghamshire Cares for Kids

Have you had breakfast this morning? If the answer is no, how hungry are you right now? We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and yet across Nottingham City hundreds of children are going to school without breakfast and suffering poor health and struggling to concentrate and behave in class. Please help us, help the future generation.

Government figures show that more than 3. 5 million children in the UK are living below the poverty line. We can do something to at least help the children in Nottingham to give them a better start in life. Breakfast Clubs provide children with a healthy breakfast, which is proven to help their concentration, attendance and social interaction at school thereby raising their educational attainment. A nutritious breakfast club also educates the children on healthy eating, and improves their diet in general. The Cares for Kids charity offers all 90 city primary schools the chance to set up a free to all children out of school hours Breakfast Club.

“The impact for pupils involved has been significant, both in terms of a calm, relaxed and sociable start to the school day, and also for the beneficial impact of a nutritious balanced meal to set them up for the morning. The emphasis on social skills has also resulted in a massive improvement in the children’s behaviour throughout the school day. ”
