Groundwork Greater Nottingham Trust

We are a committed regeneration organisation that implements focused project to improve quality of life for people within the most disadvantaged areas of Greater Nottingham.

Groundwork aims:
• enable an integrated and community led approach to local regeneration including family activities
• encourage healthier lifestyles
• use a variety of activities to improve social and economic change
• help individuals increase skills and confidence
• reduce anti-social behaviour
• Work in partnership with communities

Our teams:
• People - deliver horticulture, heritage and environmental education in schools & communities. They deliver a play ranger programme. We have a team for detached, youth centre and theme based work for young people. We host the Food Initiatives Group for Nottingham (strategic food group for the conurbation) and also manage significant Future Jobs Funds contracts through partnership with all sectors.
• Places - Landscape architects team who consult, design, plan and project manage physical improvements to open spaces.

Our turnover in 2008/9 financial year was £1. 5million. We employ c24 Full Time Equivalent staff, who are very skilled and experienced in delivering the variety of projects we undertake each year. All of our projects work with a variety of partners across Greater Nottingham, such as tenants and residents groups, friends of parks & woodlands groups, community allotments associations, schools, youth groups and specialist groups such as disabilities and refugee groups.
