We are a volunteer-led charity with 20 years experience supporting people living with HIV from ill health and poverty back to sustained independence. We work in the poorest boroughs of East Londo
We aim to improve the quality of life for individuals and communities affected by HIV living in the east-end of London. Being diagnosed with HIV is a life-changing event for a person and presents seemingly insuperable barriers to leading a fulfilling life. Positive East is there to ensure that people do not face that diagnosis alone and that there is support available to the barriers that may arise at diagnosis and beyond.
Positive East aims to:
- Challenging HIV related stigma and discrimination in creating services led by people living with HIV.
- Preventing the onward transmission of HIV through HIV testing in our communities and counselling on sexual practice.
- To enable people living with HIV to fulfil their personal potential, better manage living with HIV and improve their health, wellbeing and independence.
