  • Mission statement

    Mission
To provide Arab arts and culture in Liverpool with an international reach, to bring diverse groups of people together, and to increase the public’s knowledge and appreciation of Arab culture and its people.
LAAF aspires to bring the best of authentic traditional and contemporary Arab arts and culture to diverse audiences here in the UK and internationally.
    Position statement
LAAF required a refreshed business plan for the period 2018-2020 fit for an independent legally constituted company with registered charity status. The first business plan ‘LAAF Partnership Business Plan 2004/5 – 2008/9’ was written by consultant Jon Dawson and developed with the then LAAF Steering Group. The Business plan was developed to direct LAAF 2015 to 2018. LAAF management board and staff team have evaluated organisational development informing this business plan taking LAAF forward into 2018 to 2020.
Since becoming an independent organisation in 2010 the festival has achieved more ownership of artistic content, and gained access to an increased and more diverse set of funding opportunities, such as Arts Council England National Portfolio, Culture Liverpool Investment Fund, international arts foundations and the establishment of independent revenue streams.
LAAF embraces a breadth of art forms ranging from, but not limited to, visual and performance arts and literature to film and food. With its strong position as the longest running and sole annual Arab arts and cultural festiva
