Storey Art Galery

The Storey Gallery in Lancaster is an independent artist-centred gallery which commissions, promotes and presents a programme of contemporary visual art by artists of national and international significance.

The programme includes exhibitions, off-site research projects, talks on art, projects with schools, temporary projects in public spaces, and professional development for artists. Learning and participation are integral to all activities. All aspects of the programme aim to foster and stimulate critical debate and reflection, both about contemporary art and a wider range of intellectual and social issues.

A group of artists established the Storey Gallery in 1991. It is based in a splendid Victorian gallery, which is one of the best exhibition spaces in north-west England. The Gallery is located in the Storey Institute, a Grade II listed, 19th century building which is a landmark in Lancaster city centre, and has recently been refurbished to become the Storey Creative Industries Centre.
