Since opening in 2008, under Director Emeritus Sir Peter Hall, the Rose Theatre has delivered high quality, original theatre inspiring the next generation of theatregoers.

    Our artistic vision is to ensure the arts truly belong to everyone.
    As a non-subsidisied theatre, the challenge is to continue to grow and diversity our offering by producing first class productions, to new music, poetry and dance, alongside being at the heart of our community, engaging our audience reach and participation.
    Our mission is to continue to exist and thrive as a first class theatre on our doorstop which can transform lives and engage those who do not usually access the theatre or feel a sense of entitlement. We are committed to developing our inclusive arts programmes, maintaining a creative excellence and ethos of opportunity. Our mission is to breaking down barriers across ages, backgrounds, cultures and communities and bridge the gap.

    Kingston Theatre Trust aims to:

    • To build our quality offering as a producing theatre at the heart of our community
    • To increase our audience accessibility across ages and cultures, ensuring we are open and inclusive, using the arts to transform and shape lives for the better
    • To expand our learning and participation programmes from young people, tincreasing life skills and opportunities by offering challenging and stimulating outreach through the arts
    • To develop more artistic collaborations across artistic genres
