The David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation is dedicated to protecting endangered mammals in Africa and Asia, working closely with local communities to promote harmonious living.

  • Mission statement

    The David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation (DSWF) is dedicated to the long-term conservation of critically endangered mammals in the wild and the benefit of the local people who share their environment. DSWF supports innovative projects protecting the tiger, elephant, rhino, snow leopard, wild dog and other critically endangered mammals.

    Founded by internationally renowned wildlife artist David Shepherd CBE, DSWF funds more than 14 wildlife projects in Zambia, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Uganda, Kenya, Russia, Mongolia, India and China. The grants focus on enforcement, primarily helping to train, equip and maintain anti-poaching patrols and sending undercover agents into the field to investigate illegal wildlife crime. DSWF also supports vital local community education and outreach programmes throughout Africa and Asia helping to change attitudes and make a real difference to the survival of critically endangered mammals.
