Dunedin Consort and Players is Scotland's main music group specialising in the performance of 17th and 18th Century music. Dunedin is world renowned for its award winning recordings.

    Dunedin Consort and Players, under the combined artistic direction of John Butt, Susan Hamilton and Philip Hobbs, is Scotland's premier early music group. Dunedin is a worldwide leader in the field of historical performance practice proudly supporting emerging talent. Our award winning recordings have won us international recognition and continue to expand our goals and aims.

    In addition to our concert performances and recordings, Dunedin has an extensive outreach programme, carrying out educational and community work throughout Scotland.

    Based in Edinburgh, Dunedin Consort & Players is proud to be Scottish.

  • Aims

    Dunedin Consort aims to:

    • To advance the education of the public in the arts and in particular the art of music by the presentation of concerts and other related activities.
    • To promote such similar charitable purposes, objects or institutions and in such proportions and manner as the Trustees shall think fit.
    • To advance the education of musicians by developing and improving the education and training facilities available to musicians through the operation of new training courses.
